Hello, everybody, welcome back to Better Than A Pill podcast. And I'm super excited that you're here with me today. We're going to be getting into a really good topic for our overall health and wellness, which is renewing our minds and limiting, defeating limiting beliefs. Before we jump in, I just want to give thanks to God for making this podcast possible and just give him all the credit for it.
So thank you. And I, just want to say that renewing our minds is part of whole living and that's what we're here for. We are, for me, as a woman that follows the Lord daily, sometimes better than others, it is it's through getting the Holy Spirit, reading the word, renewing my mind.
And then, doing the things I need to with my body, worshiping with movement and food, nourishing and all those things. So I thought today we would just start off with one way to renew our mind. And that is scripture. So a scripture verse, I'm just going to read one Ephesians 4, 29, 32.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up others according to their needs. That it may benefit those who listen and do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with whom you were sealed for the Day of Redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as it is. In Christ, God forgave you. And that is just a really powerful verse. I know for me, it's we don't want to be full of all those things that I just described, the anger, the bitterness rage. We want that out of our systems.
That's going to clear more room for the good stuff to come in. And forgiveness is a part of that. And, forgiving doesn't mean that you're going to excuse somebody's. Behavior, you're going to forgive them, you, you have a different a relationship moving forward. So whatever that might be, the other thing that I like to do, those of me are declarations and I'm going to have.
The link for this book in the episode, it's more power to you by Margaret Feinberg. I love this book and I'm just going to talk a little bit about this. So thoughts and beliefs can be debilitating if we don't stop them. And you can also accept certain thoughts to be true that shape your life and actually become your reality so easy.
I know for me, this resonates with me, this whole topic. And it's why I talk about it. And a lot of us, one of the most destructive agreements that we can make is believing that our current reality It's all that will ever be. It's not going to change and you're not bound to that agreement. You want to knock them down.
For me, I say, I want to say, for me to get away, Satan, that's just not true. Defeat those lies, beliefs, whatever, however way you want to look at it. And then you can let more peace and more joy. Saturate your spirit. So you know, some examples of those lies, limiting beliefs that come in and you want to just be, begin to start paying attention to these.
So my situation won't improve. Anybody ever hear that? I know I do. I got to defeat it down. I can't change. Those of you that are working with me, that's where it starts. You've got to believe you can. You've got to believe that. And then you will. That I can't change is if you don't believe you're going to change, it's going to shape what you're doing.
I'm not as good at, I'm not enough. That's when I struggle with, I have to be perfect big struggle for me defeating down that perfectionism. Anybody else relate? I'm unlovable. I'm ugly. I'm ugly. I'm unworthy of good things or success, or I'm a fraud. I should be further along by now.
You know that I definitely hear that a lot. And it's only a matter of time before the next shoe drops. So just thinking about, these thoughts can be debilitating if we don't stop them and our agree agreements like these thoughts, if we agree, they're binding arrangements between parties.
And when you agree with something that isn't true, like I just said, that will shape your behavior. Your road, your life, and it can become your reality. So part, a very important part of our, over all health and wellness mine, my two here is renewing our minds. And like I said, for me, this starts by being filled with God's spirit, which I consider to be the Holy spirit.
And and then worshiping God, praising him and giving, and through that for me, the pillars of pain free movement. And what we're putting into our body, all that proper nourishment. Like we talk about Amanda and Shannon, even supplementation, the things that are going to help us in so many ways.
And we want to have more life giving and less soul sucking thoughts in our lives. You do eventually that the saying is, you become what you think. And it really does start with paying attention, just like we do with our bodies. physically, Oh, I'm paying attention. I'm stiff in my right hip.
Ooh, I just, I have this thought I'm not feeling good. What is that? Where's it coming from? And I like to journal a lot. I will. When I'm having those things, I just will write it out. That's helpful for me and see what's really going on. It's a lot of things sometimes depending on how busy we are, a lot of things can happen very quickly.
So it's good to have time to get things out and even sort things out and then we can put it together. The good stuff back in our minds. So how you start your day is really important for me. That's most important. Spending my time, quiet time journaling prayer scripture, whatever that is for you, gratitude, being thankful because we can be.
Thankful and just when we talked about this, we've done episodes on this, it's just, that is just so important to it. It helps everything our minds over our health and wellness, and we fill our minds with truth. I asked God to fill me with more peace, more love, more joy, more of his power, more of his strength, more of his wisdom.
And that is key each day. Each day. And the cool thing is that we, we're going to have good, we're going to have, we can start our days over anytime. That's another thing. Anytime. The other things like we always talk about. Remember to be patient with yourself as you're doing this kind to yourself, listen as much as you can to those thoughts coming in to feed them down.
They know, no, that's not true. Get away from me. Whatever's going to work for you. And then replace it with something that's going to be whatever it is for you, a scripture verse or a prayer or thanking, being thankful out loud, thanking for me, thanking God, whatever it is.
Okay. And. Most importantly, we are not just like with their bodies, striving for some level of perfection with any of this. I know I need to hear that and hear myself say it aloud. It's just the journey. And it's, the more we have that awareness and we are. Building ourselves up where we're for me learning like who I am in Christ and that who has made me new, I'm going to give him credit to, to, to Christ for that.
And that is for me most important.
